Let's talk about First Officers, There is a lot of public misconception about first officers and captains. I remember one time I was still a first officer having a drink with the captain I was flying with. We started talking with some people sitting next to us, and one of them asked: "So, which one of you is the pilot?" At first, I didn't understand what his meaning was. Howdy, In my last post, you saw some screenshots of our comic book. While the books are nearly complete, we will still make minor changes. More specifically, we are in the process of changing the font in the dialogue. Did you know most comic book studios have several people working on one comic book? Usually, one artist does the initial black-and-white sketch, the next person does the coloring, and another creates the word balloons and lettering. Then there is the story writer, scriptwriter, cover artist, and editor. A much smaller team is behind our comic books, and just about everything from cover to cover is done by one artist, including the word balloons and lettering. Here is a quick introduction to the World of FunkyPilot Academy, I gave a brief introduction to Comic Books in my previous post. This time I'm going to talk more specifically about FunkyPilot ACademy comic book series. FunkyPilot Academy takes place in Jetville, a fictional city somewhere in someplace. After realizing he can hear airplanes talking to him, our central character, Captain Jack Williams, loses his job. As a pilot with a passion for aviation, he can't stand staying home doing anything, so he opens a flight school in his garage and starts mentoring his neighborhood kids. This doesn't happen easily, though! Jack loves flying but has had bad experiences working as an instructor and has no interest in teaching again. Wow, almost two years since my last post! I better get this site active again... I have some exciting news, which is why you can expect more frequent posts from now on. I'm launching a comic book series celebrating the joy of flight! Welcome to FunkyPilot Academy, a comic book series that combines humor, action, and adventure in the world of aviation! Comics have been around for ages; they are essentially sequential pictures combined with words and depict a story. Even ancient cave paintings or Egyptian hieroglyphs depict stories, so they can be considered the first forms of comics. Today everyone is familiar with movies based on comic books, and thousands of comic books are available for adults and children. While some comics are educational, most of them are not.
